The FTW Transcriber has two Play modes, to suit different transcribing styles. These can be seen by going to Settings, Play Mode. You can opt for the FTW Transcriber to play as long as a PLAY button is pressed, or to Play until another button is pressed. Whatever setting you use here will be used whether you are using hotkeys, the interface buttons, or foot pedal buttons.
Under those options is the “jumpback” drop-down, which defaults to 2. This means that whenever playback stops, the playpoint will “jump back” by 2 seconds, so that you do not miss any words from the recording. You can configure the jumpback setting to suit your transcription style.
